As the recognised voice for the interests of SMEs in India, CISME will act as an ’agenda setter’ in the area of Indian SME policy. It will have a direct role in all policy related issues that has an affect on SMEs. For this, CISME will maintain direct links and contact with the Government Organisations/Officials.

CISME endeavours to ensure that the interests of SMEs are taken into account in all legislation that has an impact on them. Some of the key legislative areas in which CISME will play an active role include: economic and fiscal policy, employment and social policy, environmental policy, enterprise policy, internal market, legal affairs, and R&D.
