The main objectives of CISME, as the voice of entrepreneurs, traders and SMEs in India include:
Monitoring the policy and legislative process and keeping its members informed on all matters of government policy of relevance to SMEs.
Representing and promoting the interests and opinions of its member organisations to the government and also to other international bodies like WTO.
Supporting its members academically, technically and legally.
